Rotary made history with the “End Polio Now” Livestream broadcast from New York City last Friday. It featured appearances by Rotary Special Ambassadors such as actress Archie Panjabi (from TV’s “The Good Wife”), singer Angelique Kidjo and other celebrities. Its purpose was to bring worldwide attention to the ongoing effort to end polio, a joint effort of Rotary International, UNICEF and the World Health Organization. The message for the world was that no child anywhere should have to suffer from this crippling but preventable disease…
This week, we’ll hear Ally, from the youth exchange student who just returned from her year in Mexico. “I have learned so much this year about myself, and about how the world works, how it’s different and how it’s similar, and I couldn’t have done it without every single person that I have met in my exchange, from the teachers at my school, to the housekeepers in my house.” That’s what Rotary is all about!
